Material Recycling Centre
The project has been funded by a number of councils within the Coventry area. To maximise the area of land use there was a 33,000 cubic metre cut and fill operation to include structural remediation of the embankments. This required a portion of the building to be constructed on deep piles and the rest on pad foundations on the existing rock sub-strata. The steel frame was cladded on all sides as well as the roof structure. All mass fill concrete floors were ground bearing with extra bases for the concrete walls to separate all recyclable materials.

The external access roads are predominantly brushed concrete with macadam construction for service routes.

Following the link below will give further perspective on the nature of the building's use and process.
